Welcome to the Committee for Citizen Awareness
- Justice Robert H. Jackson
The Committee for Citizen Awareness (CCA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), non-partisan organization established in 1985. The purpose of the CCA and the distinguished Americans working with it is to enhance American democracy in the Internet age. It does this by improving America's 22 million high-school-aged citizens', and other citizens', understanding of and participation in the workings of our democracy. Furthermore, it attempts to improve America's lowest voter participation in the developed world.
Award Winning DVDs and Highly-Rated, History-Making Web Site
The CCA produces and distributes American education's most viewed series of free Telly and Accolade Award winning civic DVDs. They feature local hosts, national personalities like Colin Powell and Bob Schieffer and usually the local U.S. Representative, relating national civic matters to that locale.
Through the web site, for the first time in history, the local hosts, teachers and usually the area's Representative and Senators routinely engage America's youth in their democracy. Student/citizen opinion expressed through the CCA web site's student selected "issue of the month" is communicated to those who constitutionally represent them in Washington, D.C.
